The Aspen Cabin in the Woods
Image by dj @ oxherder arts
Morning sunlight streams through the Aspen trees along the path to our cabin in the woods. I am always amazed at the things that seem to "capture" sunlight and hold that light. Aspen leaves are one of the best examples of such. Sunlight through wine or beer is another, the sparkle of light in a stream, the seeming glow of prairie grass, and the twinkle of light in my wife’s eyes as well.

Question by Mysterious Gryphon: Which is a better romantic weekend: cabin in woods w/hot tub, or historic hotel in fabulous big city?
We love big cities but also enjoy peaceful weekends away. Both cost about the same, equal distance from home. Cabin has a kitchenette so we wouldn’t have to eat out for every single meal, but meals out in a small town cost less than one fancy dinner in the city.
Suggestions?

I think if you want a nice romantic weekend, a cabin in the woods would be great. You won’t be bothered by anyone, no noise, no interruptions, no distractions. It will give you real, one on one time.
